Cookie Policy · Version 2026-05-09
We use roughly four cookies.
No tracking pixels. No ad networks. The full list is below.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small file your browser stores on our request, so we can recognise you on the next page load. "Similar technologies" covers things like localStorage and sessionStorage. We treat them all under this policy.
Categories we use
We use only strictly necessary and functional cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or fingerprinting libraries. We do not embed third-party trackers.
Strictly necessary
These are required for the service to work — primarily to keep you signed in. They cannot be turned off; if you reject them, the app cannot remember you between page loads. No consent is required for these under EU/UK ePrivacy because they are necessary to deliver the service you requested.
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|
sb-<projectref>-auth-token | Supabase authentication. Keeps you signed in across requests. | 1 hour (refreshed in the background) for the access token; up to 1 year for the refresh token, persisted in localStorage rather than as a cookie when supported. | Supabase |
sb-<projectref>-auth-token-code-verifier | PKCE OAuth code verifier — used briefly during sign-in flows. | Session-only. | Supabase |
Functional
These remember small preferences (the mood you tapped, the version of this policy you accepted). They are technically optional, but the service degrades meaningfully without them. You can decline them in the cookie banner; if you do, we'll ask you again on a clean session.
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|
youconic_mood | Remembers the mood you tap (e.g. 'low energy', 'celebratory') so the next brief picks up where you left off. | 30 days. | Youconic |
youconic_consent | Records the version of the cookie/privacy preferences you accepted, so we don't ask again until they change. | 12 months. | Youconic |
What we don't use
- No advertising or marketing cookies. No Meta pixel, no Google Ads tag, no LinkedIn Insight Tag, nothing of the kind.
- No third-party analytics. We do not use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or equivalent. Internal events are written to our own database and never leave Youconic infrastructure.
- No session-replay or fingerprinting libraries. Nothing watches you move your mouse or types alongside you.
Sub-processor cookies
When we link to a third-party page (Spotify auth, OpenTable bookings, partner sites), that third party may set its own cookies on its own domain under its own privacy policy. We have no control over them once you leave our domain. The sub-processor list is in the Privacy Policy.
How to control cookies
You can clear or block cookies at any time from your browser settings. Doing so will sign you out and the app will treat you as a new visitor. We recommend keeping the strictly-necessary cookies enabled and declining functional cookies if that is your preference — the consent banner gives you that choice.
Changes
If we add or change a cookie, we'll bump the version number at the top of this page. Material changes (a new functional cookie, a new sub-processor) trigger a re-prompt of the cookie banner.
